Elias is a 44-year-old Lebanese married man who lives with his wife and three school-aged children. He has been working as a home painter for the past 25 years. He works on a freelance basis serving a wide clientele. After finding it hard to cover his children’s educational fees and the other family expenses, he decided to double his efforts and take more projects to gain higher income. And today, he is asking to borrow $3000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to buy painting products as he is about to start a new project and must cater to the demands of his customers. In the future, he plans to open a painting shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
