Evelyn is 53 years old and married, with 11 adult children. She is from the village of Sebasi, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. To make a living, Evelyn plants and harvests a variety of vegetables to sell. Evelyn has been engaged in her business for more than 10 years and earns approximately 4,500 PHP a month.
Evelyn joined GDMPC in 2008 to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. She is requesting a loan of 5,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer such as manure. Evelyn will use the additional revenue generated from her business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
