Ehritam is a 51-year-old farmer who has raised seasonal fruits and vegetables for the last ten years. He is married and has three children. His wife helps Ehtiram to run the business. He usually sells his crops in the central bazaar. His business generates 300 Azerbaijani manats (AZN) profit per month. He would like to expand his business and for this purpose he applied for a loan of 1000 AZN. This will be the second loan from AqroInvest and he has a good client history.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
