Kheam is 44 years old and the mother of five children. One of her children recently married and lives with her husband out of the house. Kheam is a local farmer as well as a plastic-kindling maker. She lives in the Ornlong Veng district. Kheam grows rice crops in the rainy season and spends most of her time during the dry season making plastic kindling that is normally used by housewives to produce fire. She can generate approximately 6 USD daily through her effort and skills.
Kheam is requesting a loan to purchase an additional plot of land for farming. She will use her remaining loan to buy the raw materials to make plastic kindling. She hopes that her loan will help increase her family’s income.
