Jason is 26 years old and married. He has one child, an infant. He lives in Punta, Panaon, in the province of Misamis Occidental.
Jason owns and operates a motorcycle-transport business to make a living. He has been engaged in this business for four years, and it is his primary source of income. He earns about 5000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month.
In 2011, Jason joined GDMPC. He has requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to purchase a second-hand motorcycle for transport. He is very determined and believes that this business could have an excellent return. In the future, he plans to save part of his income for his child's education and to invest in another line of business. For now he is thinking about what kind of business that should be.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
