Joyce lives in the Changamwe area of Coast Province, Kenya. She has nine children, and, currently, only one attends school; most of the older ones are independent. Joyce operates a water kiosk. She began this venture in order to meet her children’s basic and educational needs. Besides this, Joyce also operates a food stall and a charcoal shop.
Joyce joined Milango in order to access credit to finance her business operations. She has been supplying water to the residents around Changamwe and has applied for a loan of Ksh 40,000 to help her pay water bills and buy plastic jerican drums.
She dreams of running a chain of food stalls, as this will enable her educate the last child who depends on her.
