M. Hussein is 18 years old and lives at home with his parents and one sibling. Unlike other people his age, he wasn’t able to continue his education because of his parent’s poverty. He is taking responsibility for his life and has started to work on his own. Today, he is the proud owner of a motorcycle repair shop. He is applying for a loan for $1,000 from Kiva partner Ameen to buy mechanical supplies for his business so that he can improve his ability to serve his customers. In the future, he plans to continue to expand his business by buying more spare parts.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
