Alaa is a 23-year-old single Lebanese man living with his parents and four siblings. He has been working as a painter for the past seven years and is looking forward to growing his business. He works independently in his business and has one part-time employee helping him with the work.
Today, he's looking to borrow a loan of $1500 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase scaffolding in addition to some electrical equipment. He is sure that this loan will help him become more efficient at his work. In the future, he plans to have his own painting shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
