Babek grows wheat, corn, seasonal fruits and vegetables, which he carefully tends so that he can produce a full, healthy harvest.
He will use the loan of 1,000 AZN to buy seeds and fertilizer that will enable him to improve his yield. Babek enjoys doing this job and that's why he will continue to use loans so he can improve his farm and become a better farmer.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
