Wissam is a 32-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and one school-aged child. He has owned a car repair shop since 1999. His job consists of repairing vehicle bodies. He has one full-time employee helping him with the work. He cooperates with his wife who works in selling shoes and electrical products in order to pay the whole family expenses, especially their child's educational fees.
Today, he’s requesting to borrow $2,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase more car spare parts. In the future, he plans to open a bigger store and trade in spare parts.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
