Mayada is a 37-year-old Lebanese single woman living with one parent and two siblings. She has been working as a beauty specialist for the past four years. In parallel, she also works as a hairdresser. She works from her home and she also serves clients at their domiciles. She has a good business reputation and has a good number of customers asking for her services.
Today, she’s asking for a loan of $2,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase a car for her business. She states that this car will help with her transportation, especially since her customers are located in different areas and villages. In the future, she plans to open her own beauty salon.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
