Sleiman is a 40-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and four school-aged children. He is trying to do his best to satisfy his family needs, especially with the heavy demands of life. He has been working as a farmer since 2004 using large plastic tents to grow his products. Today, he’s asking for a loan of $2,500 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase the necessary tools and supplies in order to build and install a new plastic tent on his land. He notes that this loan will boost his business productivity and thus his profits. In the future, he’s looking to invest in new land. This will be his second Kiva loan.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
