Ghiwa is a 29-year-old Lebanese woman who is married and lives with her husband. She has been selling hand made products, such as wooden sculptures and leather bags, for the past four years. Her business is based at her home.
Ghiwa has had a Kiva-funded loan before, and was a very good client who repaid her loan promptly. She plans to use this $1,000 from Kiva field partner Ameen s.a.l. to increase her inventory of new items to sell such as bags, statuettes, carvings etc… . In the future, she plans to open her own retail shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
