Fatmeh is a 21-year-old Lebanese engaged woman living with one parent and three siblings. She has been working as a nurse since 2008 healing patients wherever they are located. In parallel, she started to work in a local hospital in 2009. Today, she’s requesting to borrow $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to perform the needed maintenance on her car which will facilitate her transportation towards patients. In the future, she plans to take another Kiva loan in order to strengthen her business and earn more income as she intends to get married soon and needs to support her fiancé with the wedding expenses.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
