Najib is a 50-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and four children. At the first, he started to work as a farmer for the past 30 years specialized in cultivating olives. Then, he decided to work as an employee in a water company in 2000. Some of his children are still attending school; and this is the reason why he was obliged to have two jobs in order to be able to pay the heavy life expenses. Today, he is applying for a loan of $2000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a mini van to help him with his product distribution. In the future, he plans to diversify his business operation and start cultivating different types of vegetables and fruits.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
