Carmen
Carmen, age 61, lives with his wife and six year old son in the village of Siguatepeque. He has been growing corn and beans for ten years.

He has now started planting coffee, and he has a nursery of small plants. This business activity has become attractive due to the fact that the price of coffee at the international level has risen and he gets better income. Also, the zone is suitable for this type of crop.

He requested a loan from ODEF in order to give due maintenance and assistance to the crops where he hopes to get good income.

His dream is to cover two “manzanas” (a land measurement unit equivalent to 7000 square meters) of land with coffee. He will do this in order to use his earnings to build apartments to rent as his future project.
