SEDJROGANDE is a group consisting of three people who live in the same neighborhood of Benin. This is the fourth time that this group has requested a loan from ALIDE in order to raise the standard of their business and to better respond to the demands of their customers. The representative of the group, named Yvette Akouavi, is the one with the raised hand in the photo. Yvette Akouavi is 36 years old and married to a chauffeur named Theophile. The couple have two children, both in school and under their care. Yvette dropped out of secondary school. For six years, Yvette Akouavi has been in the business of selling sundries (rice, vegetable oil, wood charcoal) in her neighborhood. Yvette Akouavi sources her products in a city in Benin. In the pursuit of customer satisfaction and with the goal of increasing her inventory of products, Yvette Akouavi and the other members of the SEDJROGANDE group are asking for a fourth loan from ALIDE. This loan will certainly enable the whole group to increase their revenues and their income.

La représentante du groupe du nom de Yvette Akouavi est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Yvette Akouavi est âgé de 36 ans et est mariée à un chauffeur du nom de Théophile. Depuis six ans, Yvette Akouavi mène comme activité la vente de divers produits (riz, huile végétale, charbon de bois) dans son quartier.Yvette Akouavi achète ses produits dans une ville du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et en vue de rehausser le stock de ses produits, Yvette Akouavi et les autres membres du groupe SEDJROGANDE sollicitent un quatrième prêt auprès de ALIDé. Ce crédit permettra certainement à l’ensemble du groupe d’accroître leur chiffre d’affaire et leur revenu.
Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.
Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
