Mwanajuma is a forty-six-year-old married woman with seven children, four of whom attend school while the others are all grown up. Her husband Mwinyihaji is a businessman who contributes to the provision of the family's basic needs. She has a house with neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees for her children.
Mwanajuma has operated a vegetable grocery for the past four years. Her potential clients are her neighbors, friends and relatives. She faces a major challenge of transporting her products to the market. She dreams of expanding her business.
With the Kshs 30,000 she wants to purchase vegetables and fruits for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access funds to do business.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
