Gladis
Gladis is 48 years old, married, and currently lives with her husband and children. She plans to use this loan to buy pigs to fatten. Gladis, tiene la edad de 48 años, está casada y vive con sus hijos y su esposo actualmente. Ella pretende con el crédito realizar la compra cerdos para engordarlos. Ella cuenta con el local apto para la explotación adecuada de cerdos, además ella a trabajo con estos animales desde varios años atrás por lo cual quiere invertir comprando unos para luego venderlos al mercado de la localidad. Ella tiene como meta generar las ganancias para salir adelante con los pagos del crédito y mejorar cada día su estabilidad económica y su bienestar familiar. Es el primer préstamo que recibido de FUDECOSUR. El no había tenido antes otros préstamos en bancos estatales, pero FUDECOSUR le ha brindado el préstamo con mayores facilidades y la tasa de intereses mucho más baja.

FUDECOSUR works in one of the poorest regions of Costa Rica, where microfinance institutions (MFIs) are scarce or have a hard time keeping up with demand for small loans. By providing mostly agricultural loans, FUDECOSUR reaches rural borrowers that many MFIs consider to be too risky.
