The “MARIPOSAS DE ORO” (Golden Butterflies) Communal bank will begin its third loan cycle with Pro Mujer in connection with its Panamerica regional office. The group is composed of eight members and is directed by a board for which señora Julia is the treasurer. The businesses which members of the communal bank carry out include making handicrafts, selling corn, neighborhood shops, and the sale of fruit.


Señora Julia states that for a year and a half she worked with Pro Mujer helping to promote the institution in the area. Currently she has a business selling handicrafts that has operated for three years.


The loan she is applying for will be used to purchase wool taken from the brow and rear of sheep which will be made into products and delivered to customers’ homes. This work allows her to generate income for supporting her family since she is married and has six children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer she said she likes the meetings, the training, and the counseling.

La A.C. “MARIPOSAS DE ORO” iniciará su tercer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del centro focal Panamericana, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva de la cual la señora Julia es la tesorera. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos tenemos: artesanía, venta de maíz, venta de cerveza, tienda de barrio, venta de fruta.

La señora Julia, indica que hace año y medio que trabaja en Pro Mujer y que integro la institución por invitación de una promotora en la zona. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de artesanías que viene trabajando hace tres años atrás.

El préstamo que sacará es para aumentar su capital (compra de lana) que adquirirá de la ceja y posterior a la elaboración de lo entregará a domicilio. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para apoyar a su familia, pues ella es casada y tiene seis hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta la reunión, la capacitación en crédito y el consultorio.
