A loan of $725 helped to purchase more food and supplies for resale.

Mastulah's story

Mastulah is 47 years old and lives in the town of Kalerwe in the Kampala region of Uganda. Her husband passed away a while ago, but was survived by Mastulah and his four children. For the past two years, Mastulah has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells food and home supplies.

To help expand her business, Mastulah has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more food and supplies for resale, and will help Mastulah to generate greater profits and improve her quality of life. Mastulah hopes that in the future she will be able to continue to grow her business.

Mastulah is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Mastulah who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
