Luis Felipe
Luis is a bricklayer by profession. He continues to work every day for his family’s wellbeing. His wife helps him out working as a stylist because their objective is to build their house; he’s done quite a few improvements already thanks to his savings and loans from Afodenic.

Nowadays he wants to build a lean-to in the front because the roof's overhang is short and when it rains water gets in and he wants to take care of this need; he also wants to plaster the inside of the rear walls.

He’s happy because doing home improvements has been easier and he’s made faster progress saving on labor costs since he does the work himself. With his previous loan he was able to finish installing the ceiling.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
