Leonel is asking Fundación Campo for a loan to buy roofing tile and metal sheeting to improve his house because during the rainy season his house gets wet and they have problems. This way he will be able to provide his family with more safety so that they will feel good and be able to live more peacefully.
Leonel intends in a few years to build his house out of adobe because it’s currently made of “bahareque” (sticks interlaced with mud) and he wants to give his family a better quality of life.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
