View original language description ↓
Mr. Arturo F.' business is a cell phone repair shop located in his own locale outside of the market Santa Ana in the beautiful city of Chinandega. He started the business 3 years ago with a capital of one thousand dollars to buy the tools, displays, and set up his locale.

He started this business because he needed to marry his wife, and when their two children were born, he had the need to have his own profession that would yield the income necessary to support his household. This is the reason that Arturo acquired these spare parts and display cabinet to set up his business.

His greatest need right now is investing in his business (infrastructure), so he went to Ceprodel so he could benefit from loans, which will help him improve his locale and support his family. He has a record of 18 loans.

This loan is administered by Centro de Promocion del Desarrollo Local (CEPRODEL), one of Kiva’s larger partners in Central America. Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
