Abdul, 45, is a hardworking man who started his retail business 21 years ago. He sells food and has a grocery store near his home in Agsu where he lives with his three children and wife.
This is his second loan from AqroInvest in the amount of 1500 Azerbaijanian Manat (AZN). With his previous loan, Abdul bought products for his store with the intent of increasing his business. His main goal is expand his business and in this way to provide a better life for his family. Abdul is happy with the loan and promises to complete his payments.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
