Hussein is a 47-year-old married man from Lebanon. He is living with his wife and two school-aged children. He has owned a pastry shop since 2006, and has more than 15 years of experience. He cooperates financially with his wife, who works as a teacher to be able to pay the heavy life expenses.
Today, he is requesting to borrow $1,200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase more merchandise. He intends to augment his business productivity to get higher revenue in order to improve the family’s financial status.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
