Mrs. Bun is a resident of Ornlong Veng district of Siem Reap province, where people depend on agribusiness for most of their incomes. Mrs. Bun and her husband have been engaged in agriculture for years. Together they are able to earn approximately $5USD per day through farming. Now they are blessed with two children, both of whom are young and live under her care.
Mrs. Bun is looking for a loan from HKL, one of Kiva’s partners, to purchase a motorcycle for use by the family without hiring any motorcycle services. This loan will make her family's life more comfortable.
In the future Mrs. Bun wishes to have a plowing machine for growing her rice crops and to send her children to study in a local school. She would like to say thanks to all lenders that always kindly help her family.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
