Thomasia attended school up to University. To provide for her needs and those of her children she sells non-alcoholic beverages. In parallel to this activity she also manages a refreshment stand. She gets her supplies in Benin.

With her goal of meeting her customers’ demand and to increase her sales and income, Thomasia, along with the other members of the Sohoueto de Womey group, is requesting a first loan.

Le groupe SOHOUETO DE WOMEY est composé de vingt trois personnes qui sont toutes membre d'un ancien groupement et habitent dans le même quartier au Bénin. C'est la première fois que ce groupement sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de leur activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Thomasia est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo.Thomasia est âgée de 53 ans et vit au Bénin.Thomasia est marié à un agent de police du nom de Antoine. Le couple a trois enfants tous scolarisés dont deux restent encore à leur charge. Les diverses charges de la maison sont assurées par Thomasia et son mari.Thomasia a fréquenté l'école jusqu'à l'université. Pour subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants,Thomasia vend des boissons non alcoolisées. A côté de cette activité,Thomasia est la gérante d'une buvette. Thomasia s’approvisionne en boissons au Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Thomasia sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe SOHOUETO DE WOMEY,un premier crédit.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
