Hussein is a 45-year-old divorced man from Lebanon. He is living with one parent and three siblings. He opened a vegetable shop in 1990. In addition, he has prepared a corner where he sells fruit. Like the majority of the Lebanese men, he helps his family with the household expenses. Today, he is requesting to borrow $800 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase added vegetables and fruit to sell. He will also use the loan to improve his shop’s decoration. In the future, he plans to open a juice shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
