Evaline is a married woman with six children, three of whom attend school, while the others are grown up. Her husband is a businessman who contributes to the provision of the family’s basic needs. She has a house with electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food for her family and school fees for her children.
She has operated a vegetable grocery for the past ten years; in addition she practices farming. Her potential clients are her neighbors and passers by. She faces a major challenge of market price fluctuation. She dreams of expanding her business.
With a Kshs 40,000 loan, she wants to purchase vegetables for her business. She decided to join Yehu because it is responsible for its clients.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
