Nanah is 37 years old and married with two children, ages 4 and 13. She also supports 3 relatives at home.
She runs a cooking and food items shop in Goderich, Sierra Leone, and has been in this business for 8 years. Nanah sells food products such as canned goods, pop drinks, rice, and spices. Her husband is a taxi driver and businessman, and helps the family generate more income. She says that the main challenge to her business is the rise and fall in goods that affect her monthly turnover.
She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more food products, drinks, and seasonings. Nanah says that the extra income from this loan will help her add more goods to her store and support her family. In the future, she would like to extend her business to different parts of town.
