Nelly Mercedes
View original language description ↓
Mrs. Nelly S. is a very hardworking person who has been selling different styles of shoes and apparel in León, Nicaragua for 30 long years. She has two children to support. Her wish and the reason for all her efforts is to be able to save enough money to allow her children to both study and eventually attend college.

She started her business in a shabby business space, but little by little she has been investing in her business, ultimately buying shelves on which to place her shoes and apparel. It is important to stress that 3 years ago, Nelly started receiving loans from Ceprodel, loans that she has directly invested in the expansion of her business, the purchase of greater quantities of merchandise from her suppliers, and stocking up her business with the latest style of shoes.

Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
