Khachatur is 52 years old and lives with his wife, Aida, in Nerqin Hand village in the Kapan area of Armenia. Khachatur is now head of Nerqin Hand’s village community. His wife is a librarian who works in the village library

Khachatur and his wife operate a farm where they breed cattle, pigs and chickens, and raise bees. Also they grow vegetables, beans and wheat. They sell their agricultural produce at the Kapan city market.

Khachatur has a caterpillar tractor, a wheeled tractor, a utility truck, and mowing machine. The last tractor he bought was with money from his first Kiva-funded loan.
