Marcelina is 52, a widow, and has a daughter in her care. They live together in the the village of Samugari, located in the tropical forests of Ayacucho. That's why she grows cacao, coffee, and trees for lumber. These products have provided her with the income necessary to maintain herself, and pay for her daughter's school expenses.

What she most likes about her work is planting her land, and she does it with great care. She has been doing this work for ten years and what she considers the hardest part is transporting her crops, since transport trucks are very scarce in that part of the region.

This will be her 17th loan with MFP. She is a very reliable member with regard to her previous payments, so she expects to continue in this way. With the 2,000 soles she is applying for, she will buy bags of natural and other fertilizers in order to improve her plants and obtain a good yield from her crops.

Marcelina, de 52 años, es viuda y tiene una hija a su cargo. Juntas residen en la localidad de Samugari, ubicada en la selva tropical Ayacuchana donde tiene su propia casa construida a base material rústico como adobe y techo de calamina. Ella proviene de una familia cuya tradición es la agricultura, y hoy es toda una experta en el tema agrícola. Ante la perdida de su amado esposo, le fue muy difícil sobresalir, y solo tuvo que mirar hacia delante y trabajar por su querida hija. Es así que siembra cacao, café y árboles maderables, productos que le han brindado los ingresos necesarios para mantenerse y cubrir los gastos de educación de su hija. Lo que más le gusta de su trabajo es sembrar sus tierras y lo hace con mucho esmero, lleva 10 años realizando esta actividad y considera que lo más difícil es transportar sus productos, ya que los carros de carga son muy escasos por esta parte de la zona. Este será su 17avo crédito con MFP y es una socia muy cumplidora con sus anteriores cuotas, por lo que espera seguir así. Con los 2, 000 soles que solicita, adquirirá sacos de abono y fertilizantes naturales para mejorar sus plantas y así sacar buen provecho en cuanto a sus frutos.
