Shady is a 33-year-old single man from Lebanon. He is living with his parents and three siblings. He has 13 years of experience working as a home painter. And in 2001, he started operating independently.
In parallel, he has worked in a local company since 2000 in order to earn supplementary income. In Lebanon, It is often not enough to have an office salary or small shop to cover the increasing costs of food, housing, and other family expenses.
Today, Shady is applying for a loan of $1,200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase a small car to facilitate his transportation to projects where he works. In the future, he looks forward to open his own painting shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
