Randy is a 39-year-old married man. He lives in Plaridel, Misamis Occidental, Philippines together with his three school-aged children and wife.
For the past five years, Randy has spent ample time attending to the general store he owns. He sells various goods, basic commodities, school and office paraphernalia in the local community. He runs the business with faith and dedication. Each month, he gets a total of PHP 6,000 from his store. Because he aims to prosper, Randy has requested a loan of PHP 35,000 from GDMPC to invest in expanding the store inventory.
Randy joined GDMPC in 2010. This is his fifth loan from the cooperative. In the future, he aspires for a gradual business improvement and expansion to cover every day consumptions and his children's school fees.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
