Kwekwe is a married woman with six children, one of whom attends school while five are too old for school. Her husband is a businessman who contributes to the provision of their family's basic needs. She has a house with neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food for her family.
She has operated a cereals shop for the past five years, her potential clients are the neighboring locals. She faces a major challenge of transportation. She dreams of establishing a wholesale cereals shop in the future.
With the Kshs 20,000 she wants to purchase five bundles of maize flour. She decided to join Yehu to access loans.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
