Mohamad is a 24-year-old single man from Lebanon. He is living with his parents and three siblings. He has owned a shoe shop since 2009. He also sells women bags. Mohamad is considered a new business owner but due to his high competency at work, he was able to noticeably develop his business and even hire a full-time employee working as a salesman. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1500 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additional merchandise for his business. The winter season is about to begin and he needs to get the new winter shoes and bags collection to satisfy his customers' demands.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
