Bernard is 42 years old, married and has four children who are in school.
For over ten years, he has operated a green grocery store. He also grows coffee and rears goats for extra income. Previously, he sold charcoal.
Bernard is a new member of Faulu Kenya, but he has become more business oriented through ideas he's shared with his group members.
He has requested a 20,000 Kenya shilling loan to start a poultry farming business.
