Abbas is a 46-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and four school-aged children. He has been running a clothing store for the past 21 years. He sells women's and children's clothes. He is the only income source of the family.
Today, he is requesting to borrow $2,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to expand his store’s inventory with a new winter clothes collection. He is certain that the loan will help him get a diversity of new original clothes. In the future, he plans to branch out his business and start selling men's clothes.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
