Joel is 38 years old and lives in San Jose, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. He is married with three children.
Joel operates his own jeep for transport to earn a living. He has been engaged in this business for six years. He earns 10,000 PHP from this work. He has requested a loan of 40,000 PHP to buy some spare parts for his jeep for repair and maintenance.
Joel has been a member of Kiva partner, GDMPC, for one year. In the future, he hopes to purchase another jeep for transport to earn more money for the education of his children and for the family.
GDMPC is one of the most progressive cooperatives in Mindanao, Philippines. It has seven branches covering the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental. Its membership is composed mostly of farmers, fisherfolk and small entrepreneurs.
