Odai is a 27-year-old young man who lives with his family in Beit Sahour city near Bethlehem in Palestine. His sister is employed by an insurance company.
Odai owns an olive wood workshop where he produces wooden crafts such as crosses, rosaries, statues, etc. He wants to buy a large amount of olive wood in order to double production and increase his return during the Christmas season. However, the amount of money Odai has isn't sufficient so he wants to take a loan of $3,000 from Kiva partner, FATEN. When Odai takes his FATEN loan, which is to be repaid on a monthly basis, he will be ready to offer wooden crafts for sale in the Christmas season. This will increase his income and improve his life.
