Hiyam is a 46-year-old married woman, with three sons and two daughters. Her husband and one of her sons are workers with modest salaries.
Hiyam has her own project, which is raising sheep. She benefits from the sale of sheep products and therefore shares in meeting life's expenses. Hiyam wants to improve her project by purchasing more sheep to increase her income, especially because the area where she lives is known for raising sheep. She has insufficient funds to do this, so she needs to take a loan of 1,500 JOD from Kiva partner, FATEN. When Hiyam gets her FATEN loan, which is to be repaid on a monthly basis, she will improve her project and purchase more sheep. She will be able to sell more of their products to increase her income, which will improve her family life and bring about better living conditions.
