Pek is located in Siem Reap Province of Cambodia. She is 53 years old, a married woman, and has seven lovely children. All of her children are singles.
Currently, Pek is a rice farmer.she is the one person who works hard for covering her family's expenses. From this business activity, she can earn approximately 1 USD per day. To assist her income, her son works as a telephone repairer in a market near her community. From this sector, her son can earn about $4USD per day.
To upgrade their living, her son wishes to purchase additional telephone materials, but he lacks money, so he asked his parent to borrow some funds through HKL, a Kiva partner.
Her son hopes that this loan will make his business gain more profit per day and live in good situation.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
