Shamigul M. is 52 years old, has finished high school, is married and has 5 children. Shamigul has been embroidering and selling Tajik folk costumes for the last 8 years. She is planning to use the loan to purchase necessary embroidery supplies for her business. This loan will provide the locals with a source of hand-made folk costumes, since it is increasingly difficult to find high quality work like this. Locally, national Tajik costumes are in high demand, since they are used in weddings and other traditional ceremonies. Mrs. M. is planning to pay back the loan in the next 10 months.
