Mauro Gregorio
Mauro is the father of two young children, ages 3 and 7. He lives with his wife and children in a marginalized urban neighborhood in the canton of Santo Domingo. Mauro says that the place where he lives still lacks basic services, but his greatest obstacle is not having medical insurance. Illnesses in his family are a daily worry.

Mauro has a business selling small plastic toys and trinkets from a mobile stand. He has help from his wife. Mauro says he learned about the business from some friends since he needed the work to support his household. He plans to increase his merchandise and also buy an oven for making fast food snacks that he can sell as a way of generating more income.

Like any good father, his greatest wish is to see his children become professionals and provide his entire family a better quality of life.
