Pacífico works as a driver and is affiliated with one of the many transportation syndicates in the city of La Paz. He needs the loan to buy an engine for the minibus he owns and that he works with to continue to offer transportation for the people in the city in the best possible conditions. He lives in his own house located in the city of La Paz’s Gran Poder zone. He’s married and has three children. Pacífico is a longstanding client of IMPRO since 2007 and this will be the second time he wants his loan channeled through Kiva.
El señor Pacifico, trabaja como chofer y está afiliado a uno de los tantos sindicatos de choferes de la ciudad de La Paz. El crédito lo requiere para la compra de un motor para el microbús que tiene y con el que trabaja, para continuar ofreciendo transporte a la gente de la ciudad y en condiciones óptimas. Vive en casa propia la misma queda ubicada en la zona de Gran Poder en la ciudad de La Paz; es casado y tiene tres hijos. Pacífico es cliente antiguo de IMPRO desde el año 2007 y esta será la segunda vez que desea que su crédito sea canalizado a través de Kiva.
IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.
To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
