Moisés is a dairy farmer and also works for the city as a tractor operator; his children help him with his farming chores. He needs the loan to buy a pair of dairy cows to increase milk production and income. He lives in his own house located in Achacahi, La Paz Department. He’s married and has two children. This is the first time he’s requested a loan in IMPRO and in Kiva.
El señor Moisés, se dedica a la producción de leche y también trabaja en la alcaldía como tractorista y sus hijos le ayudan con labores agrícolas. El crédito lo requiere para la comprar un par de vacas lecheras para así poder aumentar la producción de leche y sus ingresos. Vive en casa propia ubicado en la localidad de Achacachi del departamento de La Paz; es casado y tiene dos hijos. Es la Primera vez que solicita un crédito en IMPRO y en Kiva.
IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.
To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
