Hassan is a 36-year-old married man from Lebanon. He is living with his wife and four children. Three of his children are still attending school. He has been working in his town’s municipality as a police officer since 2010. He cooperates financially with his wife who works as a tailor to pay the heavy life expenses. Today, he is requesting to borrow $2,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to pay his children’s school registration fees. He says that the school year is about to begin and he must pay the required amount to the school management as soon as possible so that the children can pursue their education without having any financial problems.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
