Izolda, 52, is from the village of Sartichala in East Georgia. She is married and lives with her husband, Zurab, and their 25 year old son. Zurab works as a baker in the local bakery. Izolda has two cows and she produces approximately 40 kg of cheese per month, which she sells locally to dairy retailers. The family's total average monthly income is 500 Laris.
Izolda has requested a loan for the expansion of her cattle shed. She plans to purchase two additional milk cows in the near future but her existing cattle shed doesn’t allow her to keep more cows. After the expansion of the shed, she will increase the number of cows and double her production and sales of cheese. This will increase her income and improve the family's living conditions.
